Hair is everything when we talk of beauty and elegance. No doubt, hair loss is such a matter of fear and horror for every woman. But running to the salon and getting costly chemically charged shampoos and hair serums is not always the answer. We must go Au naturale! Read on to know how.
Of all the assets that a women is bestowed with, our hair is by default the prettiest but unfortunately the most ignored one too. Our hair has been time and again called the ‘Crowning Glory’ and not without reason. Hair alone can make us look young or old, healthy or sick, tired or fresh. As all great things have to come to an end, our collective hair life seems to be getting shorter by the decade! Pollution, stress, lack of care, utter disdain towards our mane, has created wide spread epidemic such a premature graying, hair loss and female scalp patches. Thousands of women are suffering from itchy scalp, breakage, rough and dry hair almost on a daily basis so much so that it has become a part of their life now!
Hair care- How to Do it naturally
What we all need today, is an intense and regimental hair care routine albeit the natural and organic way. This starts by changing your diet. Hair reflects your lifestyle and food intake. You are what you eat! Salty, spicy, oily food on a daily basis can be disastrous for you as well your hair. On the other hand, protein rich items such as eggs, milk, soy in combination of fish or walnuts (omega 3 enriched foods) can do wonders for you. Supplement your diet with vitamins B6 and B 12 and folic which you can derive primarily from potatoes, bananas, spinach, poultry, fish and dairy product are necessary for healthy hair as well as for everything else!
Next comes, hygiene steps such as regular washing and conditioning hair. Monthly hair spas would not hurt your wallet or your hair either. Try to avoid excessive hair altercations such as chemicals or heat such as rebonding, curling, straightening, coloring etc., but if you ARE one of those fashion and trend victims, than you could compensate for your sins by extra hair care, conditionings, weekly oiling and massaging as well applying fruit and honey masks etc.
A healthy lifestyle with fixed eating and sleeping time is an absolute must. You simply CANNOT have healthy hair if your life is an absolute mess! Make routine visits to your hair stylist or dermatologist in case you have chronic dandruff or hair loss as it could be due to various other health reasons too.
Use shampoos and conditioners which have low chemical and high natural ingredients. Towel drying is the BEST practice… yes; our MUM’s were right when she told us NOT to use that blow dryer daily. We must address the most critical aspect now, which is the act of hair brushing itself, do not be too harsh on you and do it twice a day only. Honey and banana mask can be used for deep conditioning and vinegar rinse (just one teaspoon) can bring a lovely sheen.
Ladies, let us all make a solemn promise to ourselves to be a bit more sensitive to or strands!
