Hello beauties! Painting your nails soon? Either way, every beauty lover paints her nails at some point or another, and most of the time we’re less than thrilled to be waiting for them to dry. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left my nails natural and bare because I didn’t want to sit around for 30+ minutes waiting for my nails to dry (which is usually the cause because I generally apply a few coats). Plus the fact that I’m unable to use my hands for that long kind of drives me crazy. Feel the same way? Well ladies, those days are now over. I wanted to find a good, cheap way to speed up the drying process and I ended up finding two really effective ways to do it.
Spray on PAM: This was the first technique I came across. You don’t even have to use PAM, it can be the generic version of spray on oil for pans. The active ingredient in this process is called volatile which is an organic compound that aids in protecting the nail polish while allowing it dry. All you do to speed up the process here is spray your wet nails and then wipe off the excess oil.
Ice water: A bowl, some ice, and water from the tap is all you need here. After painting your nails let them air dry for about one minute, then soak one hand at a time in the ice water until the water begins to feel uncomfortable (about 30 seconds is good if you can manage that). This technique is great to use between applying multiple coats of polish as it will dry each previous coat before you apply another one without the use of any chemicals.
Hope that helps! And please note that these techniques to shorten the drying time are NOT full-proof. Keep in mind that if you’re going to be layering thick coats of polish, one on top of the other, that you’re going to have to wait a little longer for each extra coat. With that said, have fun painting your nails and not waiting that long for them to dry!
