Introducing Ombre! The French-termed hair trend features darker, more natural hues at the roots with gradually-dyed lightening at the ends. It’s been spotted on plenty of A-list celebs: think Chanel Iman, Jennifer Hudson, Naomi Campbell and Lily Aldridge.
Finally, a trend that doesn’t require a busy woman of the world to run to the salon every 8-12 weeks for a touch-up! Ombre hair has been popping up on red carpets for more than a year and is a great color option for brunettes. It’s natural, you shouldn’t have to worry about pesky roots, and most of all it looks fabulous. You can take a trip to your hair stylist or if you’re feeling brave, DIY! Doing it at home may be easier for those who don’t already have existing colour in their hair. However, if you are a dyed brunette for example, and you are trying to get a lighter honey blonde on your ends, you may find this difficult to achieve with a home kit so a trip to the hairdressers might be necessary so that they can strip the colour and start from scratch.
Choose a colour that will compliment your skin, your natural colour, and bear in mind that if you already have a colour on your hair doing it at home will be almost impossible to achieve the blonde colour you may want. It may be a costly trip to the hairdressers, but the end result will most certainly be worth it!
