Textured Bobs Are Back

Have you always longed to have a bob haircut but thought they were so yesterday? If you have, you may be wonderfully surprised to know that the bob is back, and it’s back in a big way. Just about everyone on the planet knows what a bob haircut is, and if you don’t, you will soon find out.

The textured bob is one of this spring’s hottest hairstyles.  The bob hairstyle was popular in the 1920s and from that point on has remained popular. Did you know that there is a large variety of bob hairstyles, including the layered bob and the textured bob? These are different! However, both hairstyles will add softness to your bob. Be sure to talk to your hairdresser and explain exactly what you want.

You will want to think about how your face is shaped, and how long you want your textured bob before you make an appointment with your hair dresser. If you have fine hair, consider a short bob as it will highlight your jawbone. This style of a textured bob is often cut shorter in the back and longer in the front. Textured bobs that are cut just below the chin flatters a large variety of face shapes. If you happen to have longer, thick hair then you may want to opt for a longer bob. You can discuss all your options at your appointment.

So what does a textured bob look like and how is it different than a layered bob? When a hairdresser cuts a layered bob, he or she will cut your hair to create different lengths that are within your bob hairstyle, sort of making them appear natural. When you are seeking a textured bob, your hairdresser will cut your hairstyle almost like a layered bob but instead he or she will free hand the layers making them random lengths. If you want to make your face seem thinner then you want a textured bob!

Look through magazines for the exact textured bob you want and cut out the pictures. Bring these pictures with you to your hairdresser and explain in detail what you want. Doing this may avoid you leaving your hairdresser in tears, and after all, no one wants to regret a haircut that they thought they would love and enjoy. Always remember depending upon your hair, a textured bob may not work due to the fact you may have VERY thin hair, which would leave your hair looking flat and lifeless. Always take the advice of your hairdresser.
