10 Minute Hairstyles: Beachy Waves Tutorial

These soft, subtle waves are great all year round, but this quick style will have you out the door and enjoying your summer days in ten minutes or less!  All you need for this beachy waves tutorial dry hair, a flat iron, and ten minutes!  Brush your hair, turn on your flat iron, and let’s get started, shall we?

  1. Section: First you need to section and part your hair.  How many sections you have will depend on how thick your hair is, and how much hair you actually have.  For finer hair you can go ahead and just part your hair straight down the middle as if you were going to style your hair into pig tails.  For thicker hair you may want to use four sections by simply splitting the two in half to create four.
  2. Twist & Apply Heat: Taking one section at a time, twist it until you’re holding the end of the section with your fingertips.  Take your preheated flat iron and run it down your twisted section of hair from root to just above your fingers.  Do that a few times on all sides of the twist until it feels thoroughly heated through.  Leave the twists in (they’ll stay in place for the most part once you let them go) and move on to the next section.
  3. Let Cool & Separate: Once you’ve twisted and heated all of your sections wait a few minutes and allow your strands to cool off.  Once they feel cool to the touch gently run your fingers through your hair to separate the twists.

Now wasn’t that beachy waves tutorial easy breezy?  Mix it up a bit by twisting different strands in different directions and by adjusting how tight or loose you twist them.
