Day to Night Hairstyles: Rope Twists & Soft Spirals

Summer’s end is fast approaching and with an official end date of September 21st, I’m sure I can’t be the only one thinking that it went by a little too quickly. That being said, who’s to say we can’t enjoy the rest of it while it lasts? Here’s a chic, easy hairstyle that easily transitions from day to night so you can spend less time in front of the mirror, and more time enjoying these lazy summer days!

Day to Night Hairstyles: Rope Twists & Soft Spirals

1.Divide your hair into two sections by parting your hair down the middle.

2.Twist.Pick a side to start on and then divide that section into two strands.Take those two strands and twist them both in the same direction.

3.Wrap.Once you have twisted about halfway down the strands wrap those strands around each other in the opposite direction that you are twisting.Do this until you reach the ends of the strands and then fasten with a rubber band.*If you have a hard time simultaneously twisting the strands and wrapping them around each other, then you can twist the strands all the way down to the ends, and then wrap them around each other, but I find that to be a little bit more difficult as I have less control over wrapping.

4.Fasten & Secure.Once you have both sides of your hair in rope twist pig-tails, pull them up (one at a time), and lay them down over the top of your head like a headband.Fasten and secure with bobby pins.Repeat for the other rope twist, tucking the pony-tailed ends in and pinning them with bobbies. If you have hair in the front left out (like I did) you can either let it hang loose (shaka brah) or you can twist it around your fingers into a little curl and pin it (like I did). I let the pin curl sit for about fifteen minutes while I did my makeup and then removed the pins. The result was a soft wave, but that’s just what I did. Do what you want!

Now you’re hair’s ready for your summer day, just get out there and enjoy the warm weather and bright sunrays! When you’re ready to let your hair down for a hot night on the town just pull out the pins, separate the twists, and style your soft spirals to your liking! Add a little more glam to your nighttime look by stepping out in dramatic red lips, perfect for a hot summer night out.
