Nude lipsticks with beige tones are great and all but try taking a more “au natural” approach at achieving that subtly natural look by going nearly naked on the makeup front. Three words can sum up the process: KEEP IT SIMPLE. No eye shadow, no lipstick, no lip-liner…no muss and look at that, no fuss! Stick to the absolute basics, and don’t apply anything that you know you can do without. We’re talking very light foundation, minimal contouring, trace amounts of bronzer and blusher for color, filling in your brows, and that’s it! Maybe a tiny bit of liner on the lower lash-line, but that is it – no mascara! Nothing screams “unnatural” like lashes slathered up with layers of mascara!
So like we said, stick to the basics. If necessary, cover up any unsightly blemishes or scars with a little bit of concealer and then apply a very light layer of foundation to your face. I like to mix a tiny bit of foundation with one pump of my face moisturizer from Clinique (the $20 bottle from Sephora has lasted me over a year now). I just mix it together in the cap of my foundation with a foundation brush (I use the ELF one that costs $1 at Target) and then apply a light layer to my face. Contour lightly under and on your cheekbones with highlighting and shading, and then very, very lightly re-touch up on those areas with bronzer. Add a little tiny bit of blusher to your cheeks, fill in your brows, swipe on some clear lip-balm and off you go with your nearly naked face!
