Hey ladies! Here’s a quick and easy smokey eye for you gals on the go! Sometimes I’ll be in a rush and can’t think of what to do with my eyes and I find that I always fall back to different variations of these two colors from MAC called “Sketch” and “Beauty Marked”. Sketch is one of my absolute favorites, it’s a deep, deep almost burgandy-ish / dark dark brown. Then “Beauty Marked” is a rich black accented with subtle shimmers of deep red. Basically no matter how I wear these colors they always give me a nice warm, smokey effect. No matter if I apply a little of a lot these two colors are definitely worth the splurge at MAC, but this isn’t a “Worth The Splurge” post…this is more of a how to get the look post. In fact, these two colors can be easily mimicked if you’re using one of those trusty and super affordable eyeshadow palettes from ELF.
To get the look:
Start with a clean face, and since you’re working with dark colors for a smokey eye I’d suggest starting by applying your shadow primer and eyeshadow before anything else. That way you won’t smudge anything by doing your shadow at the end.
-Prime your lids (I use the $3 hi-lighter and concealer combo stick).
-Apply “Sketch” (or your similar color) to your lids, but don’t blend the shadow much higher than your crease line.
-Blend!
-Starting at the outer corner of your crease line, dab your crease with “Beauty Marked” (or your similar color), but be careful not to add too much, just a little at a time until you get the desired look.
-Blend! (I use a “Revlon” blending brush).
-Finish your makeup as per usual and then complete the look by sealing it with a nice nude colored kisser!
