We all have a pair of comfy old heels that look like they’ve had better days but you just can’t bring yourself to toss them. Think of all that you’ve been through together- that first date, that killer interview, that one time in Vegas that we don’t talk about anymore… Instead of tossing them, memorialize them with this diy glitter heels tutorial. This tutorial will show you step by step how to add some bling to your old shoes! It’s quite simple and you’ll be sporting your new look in no time! And just as a heads up- there will be glitter EVERYWHERE for a little while. You may want to do this outside if weather permits.
Materials:
– Old pair of heels
– Glitter of choice, and a lot of it!
– Fabric glue
– brush
– Protective Clear Coat for shoes (such as Skuff)
Step one: Take your brush and paint a think layer over the entire surface of your CLEAN shoe.
Step two: Sprinkle the glitter very generously over the entire surface of the shoe. I stress on the word generous, and you may have to give it a gentle pat on all sides to ensure it sticks.
Step three: Let dry for as long as it takes so that it no longer feels tacky and not an excess of glitter comes off when you move them about. My suggestion is to check in at hourly intervals.
Step four: Outside, apply two layers of the clear coat and again let it dry again.
That’s it! Plan a girls night for an excuse to show off your new glitter heels that you made all yourself, and create some amazing new memories together!
And now you don’t have to feel guilty about not wearing your comfiest pair of heels! Recycling is important!
