Who doesn’t want a few tricks up there sleeve? This article showcases some wonderful makeup tricks for brown eyes.
Trick 1 – Apply primer before you put your foundation.
Find a primer which suits your type of foundation, for example a mousse primer will suit a liquid foundation, whereas a gel-type primer will suit powder or mineral foundation best. Primers ensure that your make-up stays on and stays fresh all day.
Trick 2 – Use good make-up brushes.
Good make-up brushes are key to ensure your make-up goes on smoothly and evenly. There’s nothing worse than using a hard, old brush to apply your bronzer or foundation, as it will be patchy and you’ll find it’s a lot harsher on your face.
Trick 3 – Contour and highlight your face
Learn the art of contouring and highlighting to really emphasise your best features. See how the model has a bronzer around her temples, cheekbones and side of her nose, and a highlighter along the top of her nose, jawline and forehead. This creates the illusion of a slimmer face and reflects the light.
Trick 4 – Learn the art of the smokey eye
There are so many guides and tips out there for learning the art of the smokey eye, you’ll be sure to find something which suits your style and your liking. Build the colour starting with a nude, and eventually finish off with a smokey brown or black. Use blending brushes instead of your finger, and ensure that the eye is lighter in the inner corner, and dark and smokey on the outer corners of your eye. Bringing the dark eyeshadow too far into your inner eye will make your eyes appear smaller, which you don’t want.
Trick 5 – Apply silver at the inner corners of your eye
Applying silver looks so sexy, as this opens your eyes and really compliments the dark smokey eye. It looks great with a tan, so it’s fabulous teamed with sun-kissed skin.
Trick 6 – Make the most of your eyebrows
Good eyebrows create a good frame for your face. If you’re blessed with dark, perfect eyebrows then you’re extremely lucky! Don’t be scared to fill in your eyebrows with a pencil matching your eyebrow colour, to create a defined shape and solid colour. If you want something a little less ‘drawn’, use a thin angled eyeshadow brush and apply a colour similar to your eyebrows and carefully fill in your eyebrows with the shadow. This stays on just as well as a pencil, however the line around your brow isn’t as defined and looks slightly more natural. Research eyebrow shapes to ensure it suits your face and looks natural.
Trick 7 – Apply false eye lashes
Apply false lashes like the model in the picture to really open your eyes and finish off the look. You can apply mascara as well on the lashes which will darken your eyes even more and create a truly dramatic effect.
