Homemade Lemon Sea Salt Scrub

Did you spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year purchasing bath products? If you do, then you may want to consider making your own. Creating a natural lemon sea salt scrub is easy and has many health benefits for your skin. Not only that, but you will save money when you can make your own beauty products at home and let’s face it in today’s economy every penny saved counts!

The citrus fruit lemon contains citric acid, vitamin C, vitamin B, carbohydrates and even a small amount of protein, yes protein. Lemons are commonly used to diminish scars or reduce their appearance, remove blackheads and acne and prevent future breakouts, as well as, reduces the amount of oil in your skin. All of these are wonderful benefits that you can get naturally from very few ingredients.

So how do you make a homemade lemon sea salt scrub?

You will need: a lemon, sea salt, a bowl, and a glass container with an airtight lid.

Roll the lemon on your countertop a few times, using the palm of your hand to gently apply pressure to the lemon. This aids in squeezing out the juices of the lemon.  Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice into a small bowl. Remove all seeds.

The next thing you need to do is to measure approximately ¼ or ½ cup of sea salt. This will depend on the size of your airtight glass container.  Pour your sea salt into the bowl that has your lemon juice.

Mix the lemon juice and the sea salt together until it resembles a thin paste. If you need more lemon juice to achieve this, add more lemon juice. If you accidentally added too much lemon juice, no worries, simply add a little bit more sea salt.

Pour the lemon sea salt scrub into your airtight container and cover then store in your refrigerator.  Take your scrub out of your refrigerator when you are ready to use it. To use: simply dip your fingers in your glass container and massage into your skin avoiding your eyes, and rinse. This is typically done best in a bath or shower, or over a sink while washing your face.

Have fun creating your lemon sea salt scrub. These scrubs also make wonderful gifts for all women in your life! Simply tie a yellow bow around the glass container and whalla you have a gift that most women will love!
