Bold, bright colors, budget friendly prices, and a dry time of less than three minutes (depending on how many coats you apply)! These two brands of nail polish are my go to brands when looking for new nail-polish. I tend to favor a good quick dry nail polish since I get antsy having to wait for my nails to dry because you know, I’d like to actually use my hands! So once I discovered “New York Color’s In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail-polish” I was hooked.
At $2 per bottle I was able to buy every color after a little while, and they have a lot! They’re awesome because one coat literally dries in less than a minute, and sometimes that’s all you need! I’ve even found that at most I’ll only need three coats, but generally I just apply two for good measure and allow each coat to dry before applying the next. Now, while the NYC polishes are still my favorite, my sister’s favorite quick dry polish (and my personal runner up) is “Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color.” This Sally Hansen polish is actually quite good, you really only need one single coat when applying these as the polish itself is thick and true to the color and it only takes one minute to dry, but it’s still not my absolute top pick favorite. Why? Because these babies cost $4 per bottle, and the two for one price comparison is just too drastic for me. Sorry Sally!
All in all these polishes are awesome and I recommend them to all my friends so I’m recommending them to you as well! They may not be the best when it comes to lasting super long, but that really falls on the shoulders of your top coat! On their own the color can wear off and chip easier, but if you apply a good top coat regularly you should be able to stretch the wear time (maybe once a week, or every other day depending on the brand). I’ve gotten mine to last a couple weeks once when I used the “Rock Hard” top coat sold at Sally Beauty Supply. I applied it to my nails after my polish dried and then let the clear top coat dry in the sun (as it recommended) and it ended up being more durable that way. I don’t always have time to sit in the sun and dry my nails and have let it dry regularly as well, and while it still allows my polish to last longer, I found that the longest I was able to make my manicure last was when I let it dry in the sun…something about those UV rays!
