Life Changing Beauty Products: The Wet Brush

I’d like to do a series on products that I can’t live without. Products that I happened upon one day that changed my life for the better. The products you buy for your friends because IT REALLY WORKS! The first of those many products is the Wet Brush.

The first time I encountered the Wet Brush was at my Aveda salon. I have long, fine, super tangly hair that turns basically into a rats nest when it’s wet, and especially after being washed in those bowls at the salon. So I’m fairly certain that all of my hair stylists have secretly hated me. But after this particular hair stylist took one look at the wet mess that was my hair, she took out the goofiest hair brush I had ever seen. It had a round top, and smiley suns printed one it. It looked like a hair brush that would come in a toy version of a beauty kit that you might gift a 5 year old ballerina. I scoffed and she looked me dead in the eye.

“Don’t knock it until you try it. This brush changed my hair game forever.”

And then she proceeded to blow my mind as she transformed my hair from the mess of a nest that it was into tangle free locks in the matter of minutes. This process had usually takes even me ten to fifteen minutes everyday! Brushing out my wet hair was such an ordeal before this brush entered my life. I would have to sit down, comb, brush, and spray detangler in hand, and turn on my Netflix to get me through the process. Spray, comb the biggest tangles down, brush them out. Repeat the process. Then ultimately my stupid hair would re-tangle and the process would have to be redone. This process sometimes took up to an half an hour. As a result, I dreaded washing my hair and would do so as little as possible, relying on dry shampoo and ponytails. Not to mention the discomfort of ripping out my hair follicles, or the astounding amount of hair that I would lose on the daily- it’s a wonder I had any hair left on my poor head!

Less Pain, More Gain

With the wet brush, brushing my hair is painless and quick! With less than a minute of brushing, my hair is tangle-free and ready for the dryer. Also, the soft but sturdy plastic bristles are magic! No kidding!,They kind of glide over your hair and guide them into place as opposed to brushing through them and therefore does a lot less ‘catching’ and ‘ripping’ of the hair, for a more pain free and gentle brushing process.

And- to top it all off, these brushes are super duper affordable, and can even be found at Targets now. So it seems the world has become made aware of the magic of the wet brush! So RUN, don’t walk over to Target and get yourselves one of the niftiest beauty products of all time to change the way you brush your hair forever!

Or just buy it from amazon. So many colors to choose from!

Have you used the wet brush yet? How do you like it?

LOVE LOVE LOVE The Wet Brush! My DD has 2! Prior to The Wet Brush, I used to use a wide tooth comb, then a smaller comb to get all the tangles out—took 30 minutes. That’s with a detangling leave on conditioner! Ever since we got The Wet Brush, she’s been brushing her hair herself since she was 7 years old. No more tangles!!!
